METALLICA

    Metallica é uma banda estadunidense de Heavy Metal formada na cidade de Los Angeles, Califórnia. Seus lançamentos incluem tempos "rápidos", instrumentais e musicalidade agressiva, a qual os colocou como uma das bandas fundadoras do "Big Four of Thrash Metal", juntamente com Slayer, Megadeth e Anthrax.
    A banda começou com James Hetfield (Vocal e Guitarra Base) e Lars Ulrich (Bateria), pouco tempo depois se juntaram a banda Ron McGovney (Baixo) e Dave Mustaine (Guitarra Solo).
    Logo após, entraram na banda Cliff Burton, no lugar de McGovney, e Kirk Hammett, no lugar de Dave Mustaine. Com essa formação, a banda lança 3 álbuns (Kill 'em All, Ride the Lightning e Master of Puppets), que são considerados até hoje seus melhores discos.
    Cliff Burton morreu em 1986, em consequência de um acidente com o ônibus da banda, em seu lugar entrou Jason Newsted, que ficou na banda durante 15 anos, e participou de 4 álbuns (...And Justice for All, Metallica, Load e Reload)
    Em 2001, Newsted sai da banda. Dois anos após a saida do baixista, a banda grava um novo álbum (St. Anger), e chama Robert Trujillo para ocupar o lugar vago.
    Em 2009 a banda lança seu 9º álbum (Death Magnetic), com uma excelente aceitação pelo público.
